Flapjacks lend themselves to be combined with a diverse contrasting flavours and taking inspiration from my favourite herb ‘lavender’ I have created a superbly enchanting flavour friendship.
The honey is locally sourced (100 yards from my kitchen) and its characteristic sweet and flowery flavour sits lovely with the taste of gentle lavender. The giant oats cook gently, swelling slightly as they absorb the delicate honey. As you take a bite the crunchy, chewy oats haphazardly fall often leaving a secret trail of crumbs.
I am content with my summery flavour combination and its delectable flapjack texture; my family swarm around when they can smell it baking in the oven.
Partners well with fruit tea or filter coffee with cream.
